Overview

What is IP analysis:
It is an initiative to extract and visualize information according to the purpose from a huge amount of intellectual property information, and to use the knowledge obtained from that for R&D strategy and management strategy.

Achievement

In 2022, we analyzed our SDGs initiatives from intellectual property information and emphasized our high contribution to SDGs through external lectures. In addition, we are using this analysis in our R&D department's new business exploration activities to propose new businesses that are conscious of the SDGs.

Future policy

We will disseminate "intellectual property analysis" inside and outside the company, provide information using more advanced methods, and actively make proposals and recommendations to management and the R&D department.

AI

Overview

As part of our company-wide efforts to promote the use of artificial intelligence (AI), we are actively working to utilize AI in the intellectual property field. By expanding the use of AI, we aim to improve research efficiency and reduce the risk of infringing on the rights of other companies.

Achievement

As an evolutionary form of measures, in 2020, we expanded the scope of application of "ai-SRT", an AI that sorts patents in order of similarity, to domestic SDI^*, and "ai-PAT", a patent reading support system jointly developed with IBM Japan, became available in English. In addition, we have started in-house operation of the application search system AI jointly developed with Seikei University.
In addition, we developed an international version of “ai-SRT” in 2021, and we are promoting the use of AI that is evolving day by day.

Future policy

In addition, we are actively working on the development of AI that can make business decisions efficiently and effectively.
