Developing Human Resources to Lead the Next Generation
In order to address the social issue of declining interest in science among children, the Resonac Group provides kindergartens, nursery schools and elementary and junior high schools located around its sites with texts and materials for experiment classes and also provides instructors for such classes from among its own employees, with the aim of helping children discover the joys of learning about science and chemistry. Moreover, on our official website, we post videos offering easy-to-understand explanations about how to conduct experiments like those included in the experiment classes at home, as well as the teaching materials (in PDF format) on the wonders of chemistry that we created and published for the classes.

"Environmental Restration project around Kasumigaura"
Since 2012, our group has been collaborating with the certified NPO Asaza Fund on the social contribution activity "Environmental Restration project around Kasumigaura" in the Kasumigaura basin, where we also use industrial water. The activity base in Sakuragawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is the source of Kasumigaura, and through rice cultivation on abandoned farmland, we aim to restore the satoyama environment and preserve the ecosystem.
With the cooperation of local residents, we conduct programs such as rice planting, weeding, and harvesting, as well as surrounding environmental maintenance activities like bush clearing and biotope creation, and fixed-point observation of the creatures inhabiting the area.
During fixed-point observations, we have confirmed an increase in the population of species such as river snails and red frogs compared to before our activities began, and we aim to further increase the number of species in the future.
In 2024, three program sessions were conducted. Moreover, in 2024, the activity area was designated as a "Nature Coexistence Site" by the Ministry of the Environment. The "Nature Coexistence Site" is a uniquely Japanese initiative implemented to achieve the international goal "30by30," which aims to effectively conserve over 30% of terrestrial and marine areas as healthy ecosystems by 2030. This designation recognizes areas where biodiversity conservation is being promoted through private sector initiatives and other efforts, and the designated areas are registered in the international database as OECM (Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures).

"Green Curtain Project"
In response to the social issue of "global warming," we are promoting and expanding the activity of creating "green curtains," which provide a comfortable environment without relying on air conditioning, at our domestic and international offices and in the surrounding areas. (In collaboration with the NPO Green Curtain Support Group)
n 2024, we donated biostimulant liquid "KROPICO" to temporary housing for those affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. This was in support of the NPO Green Curtain Support Group's "Temporary Housing × Green Curtain Project in Ishikawa," which involves setting up green curtains in temporary housing.
A total of 538 (100ml containers) of KROPICO were delivered to each unit of the temporary housing through the Green Curtain Support Group and participating volunteers between May and June. KROPICO is effective for the healthy growth of crops, and it is expected to promote growth in this green curtain cultivation using bitter gourd.

Continuous Volunteer Activities for the Restoration of Coastal Forests (Disaster Prevention Forests) in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture
The Resonac Labor union Oyama branch has been continuously engaged since 2013 in volunteer activities and fundraising donations aimed at restoring the coastal pine forest in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, which suffered extensive damage due to the great tsunami triggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Initially, the activities focused on the removal of fallen and withered black pine, land leveling, and tree planting; however, the current efforts are directed toward improving the raise environment for black pine. To date, a total of 280 individuals, including not only union members but also managerial staff and employees along with their families at the Oyama site, have participated.
In 2024, 25 participants engaged in the maintenance of approximately 5,000 square meters of the coastal forest. Moving forward, although modest in scale, these activities will continue with the aspiration to contribute to the swift recovery of the disaster-affected areas and the people impacted therein.
