Value Creation Hypothesis

Resonac’s Value Creation Hypothesis

In 2025, Resonac disclosed its Value Creation Hypothesis diagram for the first time in the Integrated Report. What we aim to convey through the Value Creation Hypothesis diagram is Resonac’s inherent strengths—technologies, people, and organizational culture—and how these strengths shape our approach to value creation. At Resonac, our uniqueness lies in our approach. We refine these strengths by combining them with strategies, individual strengths, and corporate culture (value creation recipe) and create new value through dialogue and co-creation, not only within the company but also with a diverse range of stakeholders. Therefore, the key development since last year is the hypothesis that “open co-creation with many internal and external partners is accelerating Resonac’s value creation” (co-creation hypothesis).

Here we introduce specific examples that demonstrate how the “key” elements of value creation—“strategies,” “individual strengths,” and “corporate culture”—are put into practice.

Case Study 1 Electronics Business: Copper Clad Laminates (MCL)

Copper clad laminates or metal clad laminates (MCL) are used in semiconductor packages and printed circuit boards for data centers, PCs, mobile devices, and automotive applications. They are also increasingly used in semiconductor packages for generative AI, a rapidly expanding market.

Case Study 2 Mobility Business: Aluminum Suspension

Aluminum suspension components are critical parts that significantly affect vehicle behavior and braking performance. Resonac has developed an aluminum suspension material that uses up to 90% scrap-derived aluminum raw materials. This technology utilizes AI-based composition prediction to optimize and neutralize the effects of impurities in scrap, enabling its use in high-strength components—an application previously considered difficult.
