What's "Resonac Pride Products and Services"?
Resonac Pride Products and Services are initiatives to demonstrate our Purpose and Values through our business. In order to achieve our Purpose “Change society through the power of chemistry,” it is important to visualize how much value our products and services, which we provide in a wide range of areas from upstream to downstream in the value chain, have provided to society, environment and customers. These initiatives are positioned as a KPI and efforts are being made to achieve the material issue “Strengthen co-creativity & competitiveness and create social value through innovation and business.”
Points of Certification
In terms of certification, we aim to integrate the points of view of third parties in evaluation from the perspectives of value provided to customers and society by changing society based on our Purpose as well as the appropriateness of Resonac’s four Values, risk assessment such as product environmental assessment and reputation, future potential and impact such as sales plans and market share, and relevance to shared global goals (SDGs).
Progress of Certification
We actively gather expectations and feedback on our products and services from a diverse range of stakeholders—including customers, investors, government agencies, and subject matter experts—to enhance the objectivity and transparency of our evaluations. From 2025, we have introduced an additional evaluation step conducted by newly appointed Sustainability Advisors*. Final certification is granted through the Sustainability Promotion Council.
- * External experts who provide advice on sustainability to our executive team and Board of Directors, as well as share specialized sustainability knowledge with our employees.
Progress of Certification
We completed certification for the efforts of chemical plastic recycling (KPR) and the Packaging Solution Center (PSC) in 2024. We are currently working to visualize the value we provide to society, environment and customers for each of the representative products and services of our other businesses. We are working to certify the representative products and services of all businesses by the end of 2025. Furthermore, from 2025, we have included the number of certifications in the KPI for the incentive portion of remuneration for directors and corporate officers. In addition, in order to increase objectivity, we have added a step to seek opinions from experts (Sustainability Advisors).

The first certified Resonac Pride Products and Service: Kawasaki Plastic Chemical Recycling Business (KPR)
Kawasaki Plastic Chemical Recycling Business (KPR) was certified as the first Resonac Pride Products and Services. KPR is a gasification chemical recycling plant that started operation in 2003, and it gasifies used plastics at high temperatures and breaks them down to the molecular level to extract hydrogen and CO2.
Points of certification (excerpt)
- Since it does not use fossil fuels or fossil-fuel-derived energy even in the manufacturing process, the GHG emissions is approximately 80% less compared to conventional ammonia production methods
- Recycles about 60,000 tons of used plastic per year (equivalent to about 20% of Japan's chemical recycling)

The second certified Resonac Pride Products and Services:Packaging Solution Center
The Packaging Solution Center is a place for open innovation that uses and provides advanced semiconductor packaging technologies and the latest equipment to co-create with customers. In 2018, we launched the consortium “JOINT” to realize co-creation with external stakeholders. By moving away from individual optimization, each equipment and materials manufacturer is enabling efficient development through the integration and optimization of equipment and materials. The PSC’s efforts contribute to social development and the reduction of environmental impact through “co-creation with stakeholders” and “technological innovation.”
Points of Certification (Excerpt)
- Through one-on-one collaboration with customers, we are contributing to the early realization of next-generation semiconductor packages used for generative AI, which are currently attracting a lot of attention.
- By increasing the density of the semiconductor packages, we can improve the performance of generative AI and increase the computing speed of supercomputers.

Comments from Stakeholders
Contribution to the SDGs through businesses
As a Co-creative Chemical Company that seeks to create a recyclingoriented society, we have made contributing to SDGs 12 and 17 the focus of our corporate activities, and positioned goals that we contribute to through businesses and products as well as goals that we contribute to through our business foundation as shown on the right. In addition to the areas we are already working on, we are looking ahead with the aim to contributing to the creation of a future that we seek to realize through the power of chemistry.

SDGs Contribution Products and Services
In 2022, we identified a selection of “SDGs-Contribution Products and Services.” Starting in 2024, we have redefined and continued this initiative under the new name “Resonac Pride Products and Services.” For reference, a list of products certified under the previous framework is also provided below.
