Basic Approach to Group Management
Basic approach to group management
We have established the "Rules on Group Management" as a basic policy for the management of affiliated companies, which is to be followed for maintaining control over the entire Group. Under this policy, CXO organizations have established individual policies and manuals that define the rules and the business operations related to each function. While business units are responsible for the control and the operation of affiliated companies under their supervision, we have also established a system that enables CXO organizations to check compliance with regulations and manuals and support operations in a cross-cutting manner. As part of these efforts, we established regional headquarters (RHQ) functions in North and Central America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and China, and positioned them as the cornerstone of overseas subsidiary management.
Through activities performed by RHQs in cooperation with the head office, we will strive to strengthen global governance by understanding the laws, regulations, and business practices of each country and region, and grasping and responding to them in a timely and comprehensive manner.
At the same time, we are working to grasp the operational status of affiliated companies, establish a system for early risk detection, define the roles of directors and audit & supervisory board members of affiliated companies, and share information with the Internal Audit Department, among other measures. Through these efforts, we aim to reinforce the Group’s management foundation.

TOPICSGlobal Kickoff Meeting 2025
Since 2022, the "Global Kickoff Meeting" has been held with the following two objectives.
Objective 1: To share the policies of each Business Unit and CXO organizations for the year with the group executives and deepen their understanding of the group’s current priority initiatives.
Objective 2: To foster a sense of unity within the management team through interactive in-person discussions.
In 2025, a total of 167 people, including group executives and presidents of major subsidiaries and affiliates from both domestic and overseas locations, gathered at the venue. In the meeting, the CXOs and Business Unit leaders presented the business policies and key initiatives for the FY2025. During the subsequent Q&A session, the presenters and participants communicated interactively through the questions gathered in advance. In addition, during the participant interaction time aimed at "co-creation" among participants, active networking was facilitated beyond the boundaries of departments and countries. Participants commented that "We gained a thorough understanding of the policies, strategies, and current status of the other Business Unit and the CXO organization, which greatly helps in setting goals for our own departments," and that "It was useful for building cross-business networks." This event is highly valued as an important initiative which contributes to the reinforcement of the entire group management.
