July 29, 2025
Resonac Holdings Corporation
Resonac Corporation (President and CEO: Hidehito Takahashi, hereinafter referred to as “Resonac”) is promoting hydrogen power generation initiatives at its Kawasaki Plant (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture), one of its key locations, as part of its commitment to achieving "Carbon Neutrality by 2050." We are pleased to announce the following initiatives.

Kawasaki Plant promoting the achievement of carbon neutrality
1. About Hydrogen Power Generation Initiatives
Resonac has been engaged in collaborative discussions regarding hydrogen power generation at the Resonac’s Kawasaki Plant*1 (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) based on the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Development of Hydrogen Power Generation Business in Kawasaki Area” signed with Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (President and CEO: Yasuhiko Hashimoto) in October 2023. The two companies’ goal is to contribute to decarbonization through the supply of clean energy to the power market and utilization by both companies, anticipating the establishment of an international liquefied hydrogen supply chain around 2030.
After thorough discussions, we have decided to terminate the collaborative examination between the two companies and will continue Resonac’s hydrogen power generation efforts as an independent initiative moving forward.
Kawasaki City is committed to advancing carbon neutrality in its coastal industrial zone while maintaining and enhancing the region’s industrial competitiveness, and the essence of this commitment has been put into "Kawasaki Carbon Neutral Complex Concept." Resonac supports this Concept and aims to contribute to the establishment of a liquefied hydrogen supply chain in the Kawasaki coastal industrial zone through the Company’s examination of hydrogen-based power generation initiatives while collaborating with Kawasaki City and other companies located in the Kawasaki coastal industrial zone.
2. About Establishment of the GX Strategy Promotion System
To strengthen the promotion system for GX (Green Transformation) related initiatives, including the aforementioned efforts, Resonac has established a "GX Strategy Promotion Department" within its Basic Chemicals Business Unit, effective July 1, 2025. This new Department will enable centralized management of GX projects and facilitate swift decision-making, further enhancing the Company’s initiatives.
