Resonac Decides to Raise Chloroprene Rubber Price
August 22, 2024
Resonac Holdings Corporation
Resonac Corporation (President: Hidehito Takahashi, hereinafter referred to as "Resonac") has decided to raise prices of its chloroprene rubber, a kind of synthetic resin marketed under the trade name of Resonac Chloroprene, by US$550.00/t or more for US-dollar-based transactions and €500.00/t or more for euro-based transactions. The new prices will be effective from September 17, 2024, on shipping date basis.
Resonac Chloroprene has the advantage of being highly efficient at oil resistance, thermal resistance, weather resistance, and incombustibility. Resonac Chloroprene’s fluid latex products are used for various purposes including medical instruments, adhesives, and waterproofing agents, and its solid dry-chip products are used as parts for automobiles, civil engineering, construction, and other industrial use.
Business environment of Resonac Chloroprene remains severe due to a substantial rise in raw material and electricity costs caused by surging raw material and fuel prices. Resonac will continue making effort to reduce production costs of chloroprene through streamlining of production process. This time, however, we concluded that the Company has no choice but to raise prices of chloroprene to ensure stable supply of our products and continuity of the business. We appreciate our customers’ understanding on this matter in advance.
