Resonac Corporation (President: Hidehito Takahashi) has expanded the scope of its Materials Informatics (MI) Acceleration Program, developed in collaboration with Enthought, a company powering digital transformation for science. By extending the program to include not only data scientists specializing in computational and information sciences but also researchers in materials development, Resonac aims to enhance the efficiency of materials development and expedite the delivery of new products.
In materials development, MI is expected to streamline processes, shorten development times, and reduce costs.
Since 2023, our data scientists have participated in Enthought's MI Promotion Program. Under the guidance of MI experts, participants have acquired leading-edge machine learning and AI skills relevant to materials development. They have also gained practical experience in project planning, prototype development, and presenting their initiatives, thereby improving their decision-making efficiency and enhancing their capabilities as data scientists*.
Through this program, participants have achieved significant milestones, such as utilizing predictive models for materials design, creating training datasets by extracting data from literature using natural language processing tools, and developing quality control systems that inspect images via deep learning.
Given these substantial achievements, Resonac has already doubled the number of participants and plans to triple by 2024 compared to the program's start in 2023.
Moving forward, Resonac will continue striving to enhance its data scientists' capabilities, improve materials development efficiency through MI, swiftly create functionalities demanded by the times, and contribute to the sustainable development of global society through the power of chemistry.
