Showa Denko Materials Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Hidehito Takahashi) has decided to raise the selling prices of its laminate materials for printed wiring boards as follows.

      　　  Copper Clad Laminates                          10%
      　　  Copper Foil for Fine Patterning              10%
      　　  Prepregs                                                   7%
   2. （2） Effective date
      　　  Starting with shipments on November 1, 2022
2. 2. Background of the price revision

Copper clad laminates, Copper Foil for Fine Patterning and Prepregs are laminate materials for printed wiring boards used in automobiles and a wide range of electronic devices, including smartphones, computers, servers, routers, mobile phone base stations, and home appliances.

The business environment surrounding laminate materials for printed wiring boards remains extremely challenging with prolonged price hikes for copper foil and glass cloth used as main raw materials, as well as substantial increases in transportation and energy costs.

To minimize the impact, Showa Denko Materials has undertaken various cost cutting measures, including improving its production efficiency, procuring materials by controlling the price increase of purchased items, and streamlining its logistics. Despite our all-out efforts, however, we have concluded that there is no other option but to ask our customers for their understanding on the price revision in order to maintain a steady supply of products.
