Mission of Basic Chemicals Business

While continuing to make contributions to society through safe and stable operation, we will establish a chemical recycling model to produce ammonia from 100% used plastics and work for advanced decarbonization through the use of hydrogen and ammonia.

Initiatives to Strengthen Competitiveness and Examples

Launched CirculaC, a Circular Business Model for Used Plastics and Textiles

We launched CirculaC, a circular business model for used plastics and textiles. This is a new brand expanding the circle of resource circulation with the aim of realizing a sustainable future. In 2003, we established technology to recycle used plastics into hydrogen and carbon dioxide at the Kawasaki Plant, and by January 2023, we processed over one million tons of plastic in total. Going forward, we plan to sell these products under the CirculaC brand and expand resource recycling through co-creation with external partners. We aim to help build a sustainable society with an eye to achieving carbon neutrality.
