Message from CEO
The mission of management is to maximize true corporate value R&D is our core. We continue investing to lead with technology.
Resonac has been working on various initiatives with the aim of transforming itself into a “world class functional chemical manufacturer originating from Japan.” Here, I would like to explain the current status of these initiatives and our future efforts.
Reforming Our Business Portfolio
Even before the integration of the former Showa Denko and the former Hitachi Chemical, we had been advancing reforms to our business portfolio based on three criteria: strategic alignment, profitability and capital efficiency, and identifying the best owner. With the completion of the partial spin‑off of the petrochemical business, Resonac’s portfolio will become strategically very clear.
By positioning the semiconductor and electronic materials field as our core, we will now shift into Phase 2, in which we will realize growth through concrete results, and aim to become a world‑class functional chemical manufacturer.

Creating Co Creation Through Human Capital Management and Cultural Development
A defining feature of Resonac’s human capital management is the complete alignment between our business strategy and talent development strategy. Without co creation inside and outside the company, we cannot generate new value nor create the pathways for our technologies. That is why we nurture talent capable of co creation.
The integration of the former Showa Denko and the former Hitachi Chemical has played a significant role in advancing co creation. By establishing an environment where researchers can engage in daily discussions, we have created a common language and strengthened our sense of unity. This is a powerful driver directly linked to the creation of future technologies.
Cultural transformation has also been progressing steadily, with the practice of our Purpose and Values increasing to 60% over the past three years. Through continuous dialogue with employees, a culture that values “respect” has been spreading, creating an environment where people feel more comfortable speaking up. To further enhance engagement, we are promoting initiatives that encourage autonomy and co creation through “learning, dialogue, and challenge.” Through the practice of our Purpose and Values, we will further develop a co creation culture and continue to strengthen investment in human capital.
Resonac’s Strength—We Must Never Lose in Technology
Research and development is the core competence of Resonac. It is essential that we continue to invest in this area and keep refining our technologies. Technology development through co creation, the penetration of our Purpose, and a culture that respects people—by accumulating these elements, we will continue transforming ourselves into a functional chemical manufacturer trusted worldwide.
To win through technology, it is important that we leverage Resonac’s strengths. The greatest strength of our semiconductor materials business is that we have a robust foundation for co creation. We offer about 60–70% of the major semiconductor back end process materials, which makes it easier to form consortia such as “US JOINT” and “JOINT3.” At our Packaging Solution Center (PSC), we have all the equipment needed for the semiconductor back end process, enabling end to end co creation—from idea generation to actual execution—with our co creation partners.
Another important technology outlet for us, following semiconductors, is mobility in the automotive field. Resonac offers a wide range of materials for power modules—the core component of electric vehicles. Leveraging this advantageous position, we established the Power Module Integration Center (PMiC), adopting the same concept as our Packaging Solution Center for semiconductor materials. Beginning in 2025, we have been accelerating our “customer co creation cycle” to enhance thermal management, energy efficiency, and driving range.
A Harmony Performed by an Orchestra of 24,000 People
I want Resonac to be a company where everyone can work with peace of mind and enjoyment—a company with strong teamwork. If I were the conductor of an orchestra, the instruments would be entrusted to our members, each producing wonderful sounds. And because the players respect each other, an incredible harmony emerges. I believe such a truly outstanding 24,000 member orchestra is now taking shape.
“If we continue steadily with what we have been doing and what we are now planning, we will be able to enhance Resonac’s corporate value and ensure the happiness of our employees.” —I believe this sincerely and wholeheartedly, without unnecessary pretension.
